Once you order, our team draws it up and scales the lettering to suit the length of your name and the size of the sign, so the finished proportions can sit a little differently than the sample.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eEvery piece is cut from 12-gauge steel, which is 3mm thick. Most online sign shops use 14 or 16-gauge, roughly half the thickness. Ours gets powder-coated after cutting, and that finish is rated around 20 years in direct sun before it needs redoing.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eGarden signs live outside all season and then sit through a winter. Painted wood swells and splits, and thin metal rusts through at the stake. Powder-coated 12-gauge steel goes back in the ground the following spring looking the same as it did.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eWe have been building these in Manitoba since 2019.
